Simply, I liked the course. I golf in Western Mass, where there is more hills and water on the course not sand traps. View on 16 is well worth the trip. Would play again. Must say I did not give it a 5 star because of the rocks in the sand traps. I would have thought the course would have taking care of them by now.

Love this course and the layout itself. The greens and fairways are often in great shape. The course is a lot of fun to play. As the season goes on they often let the fescue grow out making it more challenging and fun. The main problems I have with this place is in my experiences with it they tend to overbook it (in my opinion) and play can be slow. I was once told to speed up play as we were waiting every other shot for the group in front of us. They were worried about getting a side clear for a shotgun start and we were the last group. I get it but they need to plan better for that type of thing. The people that run the course and pro shop can be a bit rude at times but that varies, I've experienced good days and bad days with that. Lastly, the bunkers are often poorly maintained. For a Donald Ross course that has a lot of bunkers this shouldn't be an issue due to the importance of the bunkers for the design. The ones I've landed in have little sand leaving you with a hard pan layer just under where your ball sits. Some also have bad drainage. Also as the weather gets warmer bees tend to make nests in them but aren't taken care of. But who knows, there is something like 120 bunkers on the course and maybe the few I've landed in are the exceptions. With all this being said I would and probably will return eventually. If I could I'd give it 3.5 stars.

Top course in south eastern Connecticut.

Good walking course and great views.

Love this course! Great medium-difficulty golfing with some beautiful views on the back nine!
