Beyond awful experience from someone we thought was truly a professional salesman; a new salesman who wouldn't try to help at all, just repeated how long he'd been there and that he still knew nothing; and a manager who wasn't able to provide any information, only incredibly skilled in extensive procrastination. $9k spent on two custom made couches. We were initially told they would take approximately 8 weeks to build and deliver them. We were so excited at the 6 week mark to be scheduling a delivery date. Come to find out by the delivery people the morning of that they were delivering two loveseats, not couches. I was unable to reach anyone in the store by phone so I made sure I was there as soon as they opened their doors. The salesman stomped around like a three year old who had his toy taken away, told me that I ordered loveseats, which we did not...in fact, we made it clear we wanted full size couches after much measuring because the loveseats were smaller than the ones we currently had in our living room. I also had two witnesses that heard me order full size couches and had that repeated back to me by the salesman. I did fail to look at the detailed receipt upon leaving because who would pay $9k for two loveseats?!? So there we were, delivery almost in the driveway, trying to get the order corrected and the delivery canceled before unloading them from the truck. After more than an hour, the correct order for two couches was placed, after much anguish, the manager hemmed and hawed, but finally agreed to cover the cost difference due to the error by the salesman and then told me she would call the office on Monday to put a rush on the build and delivery of the couches and would call me with an ETA. More than a week went by and no call, so I called the store...she was "unavailable" and would call me back per the new salesman who still knows "nothing". A few more days went by and I called again only to find out that manager was on vacation. I was advised to call customer service and given an 800# by the new salesman. When I called, they told me that only the store could assist me and called the store directly. Next thing I know, the new salesman is calling me on the other line and gave me an attitude like I had bothered him or something when in fact, all I did was do what he instructed me to do. Ok, fast forward from day one to week 16 (ish)...I was told the couches were on truck from the manufacturer headed to the warehouse in New Jersey to then go out for delivery. I was assured the truck would depart Wed/Thr/Fri of that week per the manager. I call on Tuesday to see if the truck made it to NJ and was told by the new guy that it shows the couches are not due for another week or two. I had to wait another few days to hear from the manager who was supposedly on vacation again, according to the new guy who apparently still knows "nothing". Once receiving that call she assured me the couches were rushed and were at the warehouse. She then calls me back about an hour later to say that the truck never left and there was no sign of the couches. Three hours later she calls me again to say they were in fact in New Jersey and scheduled a delivery date. Now, here is where I have the really hard time...Hendel's a.k.a. La Z Boy has had $9k of my money in their bank accruing interest for almost 16 weeks now and I have had nothing but crappy service and lies. I cannot tell you how incredibly disappointed I am with them. We also had a similar issue with Hendel's Americana Furniture too. I deserve battle pay and compensation for the entire Saturday I spent waiting for the wrong sofas and the time spent calling and tracking down pertinent information on what was rightfully mine. BEWARE. If I were to buy from La Z Boy again, it would not be Hendel's owned.
Went into La-Z-Boy furniture to purchase the cheapest recliner they had. I am getting extensive back surgery in less than two weeks and I figured a recliner would be easier to get in and out of versus a bed during the first two to three weeks of recovery.
I was shown recliners of the type I was looking for but most of all, I was not pressured into buying any particular chair. I took a couple days to make my decision and even changed the chair I was originally looking at and upgraded to a power recliner. Justin was very accommodating with all my changes. I even went back to LazyBoy after finding a chair a little less expensive at another store because the salesperson was pressuring me to by a chair I liked. I returned to LazyBoy and worked with Justin to order the chair I decided on. I returned the following day to pay the deposit to seal the deal. Kudos to Justin!!
To top it all off, I am trying to conserve cash during the next ten weeks that I won't be able to work, and Kevin got us ZERO, you read that right, PERCENT financing for a year, which made the purchase so much easier for me.
Kevin hit the nail right on the head and hooked me up with an unreal chair. Might I stress the word GREAT as in both the recliner as well as Kevin's knowledge of the product line. Although we were looking to spend $399 for two recliners we ended up buying one $699 chair, that was on sale for $399, and the other chair designed specifically for back pain, that was on sale as well, reduced from $2000 down to $1500. I know that sounds like it is a lot of money for a recliner, but when I think I spent over ten grand on a fashionable, and uncomfortable, Italian sofa and chair, sort I think I was looking at the price from the wrong equation. With Kevin's expertise he helped me acquire a functional chair that I can actually enjoy sitting in, versus furniture from Roche Bobouis that looks great but beyond Italian design serves no function beyond design.
We had the best shopping experience here thanks to the incredibly professional, knowledgeable and friendly salesperson Sam. We couldn't be happier and can't wait to go back.
A distinguished shopping experience courtesy of Kevin Willoughby.
We were greeted by Kevin Willoughby. No pressure at all as he listened to what I was trying to accomplish. He understood my condition first hand, as he once went through the same type of surgery, and the years spent in pain trying to avoid it. He suggested that I look at a different recliner, that is endorsed by doctors for back pain, in that it was a power recliner with great lumbar and neck support.
Go to La-Z-Boy, and GO SEE Kevin. A truly great experience. Kevin made all the difference. A class act who guided us to the right purchase. Made us feel as though our satisfaction was important, which is a skill long lost in sales.
What a great store. Kevin Willoughby was our consultant, he was so patient with us and very informative. He knows his inventory well. We were "just looking" but between the awesome selection and Kevin's help, we left completely satisfied. Can't wait to get our new furniture! Thanks for the excellent service and we will spread the word!
I was so impressed with these folks, specifically Kevin, I intend to return and buy a sofa set that I saw as I walked out the door, once I can get back to work.
