I was in today for a haircut and eyebrow wax. This was my first visit to Home and I was very impressed! The level of service and professionalism I received today was lovely and appreciated. Your salon and spa has a very inviting and calming atmosphere.
Today I saw Johanna and Nicole and they were both excellent. I will definitely be back to see Nicole as she has a plan for my eyebrows that were mutilated about two months ago. I am also in talks with Johanna about a color service I would like to have done!
It saddens me to write this review because over the past few years I have loved going here for massages. The staff has always been great. Unfortunately, yesterday their customer service left much to be desired. My friend and I have always looked forward to massages twice a year at the end of the semesters. Due to the snowy weather yesterday and a 2 hour school delay, my friend was not able to make our 10:15 AM appointments because her 7-year-old daughter couldn't be dropped off at school until 10:25. I called right at 9:00 when they opened to explain the situation, but was told that we would be charged 50%, no exceptions. I totally understand the need for a cancellation policy, but to not make any exceptions is crazy to me. I told her we wanted to rebook them, but it didn't matter. Even though we had no control over the weather or school delay, she said that's the policy since the masseuses were already there and they needed to pay their salaries (not sure why they were there 1 hour 15 minutes before our scheduled appointments). I asked to speak to the manager and was told, "You can, but she already messaged me this morning to make sure I told people the policy". She said the manager would call me and even made sure she had the correct number. I waited all day and no phone call, but they were quick to charge my friend's and my credit cards! It is really sad to me because we had such great experiences there over the past few years. I guess the $27.50 cancellation fee was worth losing 2 customers because we won't be back.
Home Salon and Spa is cozy and felt very zen. I went for the first time to get a Deva Hair Cut and had a great experience with Kyla. I learned so much of how to take care of a treat my curly hair, which has been a struggle my whole life. It has been about 3 weeks since my appointment and I'm loving my new hair cut and how my curls are looking. I will definitely be going back in the future!
