It's pretty straightforward and comprehensive.
I will never rent from Hertz again. Whoever maintained the car decided that the cheapest washer fluid possible was the best choice. This fluid then froze solid in the resevoir. Because of this, driving on the highway required periodically pulling over to dump personally purchased washer fluid directly onto the windshield to clear off salty spray. Dry wiping only caused the road gunk to smear.
To Stefanie - maybe you should be careful about what you say.
Instead, you could actually READ the notices about Hertz's debit card policy that clearly pop up when using the online reservation option.
Good friendly staff,know their business good up to date automobiles,very clean.
They would have gladly explained to you their policy if you didn't understand it (which seems to be the case), provided you with the payment options available, and offered any other help in making your reservation a reality.
Especially when it is considered to be hateful and/or defamation of character.
Moreover.. even tho it's unfortunate you had a difficult experience, it seems to have stemmed from your ignorance of the rules/policies made readily available to you. So, while you can throw a tantrum in general and complain about needing to reschedule your 13 yr-old's birthday party, keep in mind that all you actually needed to do was be a responsible adult.. Pick up the phone, call the location and speak to somebody to confirm your reservation ahead of time if you had any questions/concerns/confusion.
