Beautiful nature paths on the shore. Great escape from the highly developed surrounding area. Very popular and busy so lots of other people.
It’s nice that it goes out to the water, but beware the ticks and piles of horse poop.
It was very easy to find parking here. It seemed pretty busy to me for a week day. However, everyone was so pleasant and friendly that we passed while hiking. The views were really nice. It was an easy hike for a nice fall afternoon.
Nice loop and great views. The loop is 3.6 miles around and the path is fairly easy. There are a lot of smaller mountain biking trails on the interior. I recommend wearing sneakers. If it has rained recently be aware that some of the trail may have large puddles, typically there is an easy way around them though. The parking area is mostly unmarked, and the road in can be a bit bumpy. There are charcoal grills and picnic tables here if you want to have a picnic. Stay in the upper parking area if you have a low sitting vehicle. When high tide comes in the lower parking area gets covered with water. Dogs must be on leash, don't throw anything not biodegradable into the port-a-potties. Don't bag your dogs poop and throw the bag in the woods, if your dog poops on the trail knock it to the side with a stick, or carry it out.
Beautiful long walk in a dog friendly free state park! My husband, dogs and I were able to enjoy the whole loop as everyone (including us) were respectful of the leashes-required rule. Plus there are horses and mountain bikers on the trails so it just makes it safer for everyone. It does get super busy at picnic lunch time on a Saturday.
